Shi Jin (Song Joong Ki) is the captain of the speacial forces. He caught a motorcycle theif, together with Sergeant Major Dae Yong (Jin Goo).The thief got injured during while being captured and he was sent to the hospital. Dae Yong soon realised his handphone was actually stolen by the theif and he went to the hospital to get back his cellphone.
While in the emergency room, Shi Jin meets Dr. Mo Yeon (Song Hye Kyo) for the first time. He falls in love with her immidiately when the moment he saw her Mo Yeon mistakenly assumes he is part of the theif's criminal gang. He proves to her that he is a soldier with the assist of an army doctor Myeong Joo (Kim Ji Won).
Shi JIn and Mo Yeon begin to have a relationship. However, due to their jobs, their relationships did not goes so well. Shi JIn follow an order to lead his soldiers on a peacekeeping mission to the country of Uruk. Meanwhile, Mo Yeon becomes upset that she fails to become a professor due to a colleague's privileged background. When Shi Jin and Mo Yeon meet each other again, they discuss about their views on life and and realise how different the both of them are. Shi Jin is a soldier, he kills to protect people's lives while Mo Yeon is doctor, she tries to save all lives. Due to this, they bid farewell to each other.
